Tom Bailey

Postdoc

Tom is a postdoctoral researcher in our lab with a background in the study of the versatile clostridia bacteria. He joined our lab to focus on developing a regenerative therapy for corneal diseases. Tom's project aims to culture corneal endothelial cells from donor tissue or iPSCs to address the shortage of donor corneas, a collaboration between the MERLN Institute and the Department of Ophthalmology at MUMC+. Tom's work promises hope for countless individuals suffering from corneal diseases, offering a potential solution to the pressing issue of donor tissue shortage.
