Fiona Passanha
Project LeaderFiona completed her PhD in 2021 with a research focus on exploring the impact of cadherins, a family of cell-cell adhesion molecules, on the behaviour of human mesenchymal stem cells derived from bone marrow. With her passion for contributing to the advancement of regenerative medicine, she joined Vanessa LaPointe's Cell Therapy group as a project leader after a brief stint as a postdoc. In her current role, Fiona is instrumental in grant management and plays a key role in translating research and supporting the group's valorisation activities. She also manages administrative and collaborative efforts, supports publication processes, and oversees data and student progress, ensuring the group’s projects reach both academic and applied milestones. Her comprehensive approach contributes significantly to the group’s success in bridging scientific discovery with practical impact.
